Start at the gorgeous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, which is the glamorous forerunner of today’s shopping malls and where the likes of Prada, Gucci and Louis Vuitton nestle. Known as the living room of Milan, the galleria opened in 1867 as one of the earliest and remains one of the largest examples of glass-and-iron architecture.
