The water in Italy is more and more clear and blue

Step forward of the quality of water of seas, but also rivers and lakes in Italy. The European report on quality of bathing water, presented today by EU Environment Commissioner Janez Potocnik says: “In Italy 91.9% of the marine waters gratified in 2011 established mandatory standards from European increase of 6.6% over the previous year. Not only. Coastal waters of “excellent quality are passed in a year from 77.2% to 83%.”

Even rivers and lakes are cleaner in Italy: 85, 8% of bathing sites internal, mandatory European standards have been met with an increase of 13.1% compared to 2010. But even more positive, the report’s findings on fresh waterof excellent quality in just one year rose “from 58.4% to 77.1%.”

These results suggest, among other things, said the Executive Director of the European Environment Agency Jacqueline McGlade: “This year’s report shows that the Italian authorities are working well to ensure the country clean and safe water. This means that people can, once again, from quiet to their summer destinations, whether at sea, lake or a river.
